Children:

Nursery:  Downstairs.  Opens each Sunday by 9:00 am and remains open until 11:00.  Staffed by a professional caregiver who is assisted by parent and youth volunteers.  Childcare is also available during the Spanish service.

Preschool/Kindergarten:  This is a wonderful introduction to Sunday School, with a Bible lesson and a related activity each meeting.  Follows the Godly Play curriculum.  A snack is served.

1st - 3rd Grade:  Uses the Episcopal Children's Curriculum.  Storytelling is the principal means of helping children focus on key Christian teachings and the person of Jesus.

4th and 5th Grades:  Uses the Episcopal Children's Curriculum, with greater use of the Bible and the Book of Common Prayer.  Planned group activities help children experience what they are studying in this intermediate level of Christian education.

Youth:

Middle school through young adult:  Follows the Journey to Adulthood program which uses Bible study, prayer, rites of passage, outreach ministries, and both serious and playful activities. At St. Mary's, the program is broken down as follows:

Rite 13 - (Beginning the journey to adulthood)  The first two years (6th & 7th or 7th & 8th graders) focus on celebrating the individuality of each young person and their creative potential. The Rite-13 Ceremony is the community expression of this.

J2A - (Developing core values for the journey)  The middle portion of the program (8th & 9th or 9th & 10th graders), engages youth with the skills and critical thinking involved in adulthood. The youth plan a theme and destination for their pilgrimage together, and also begin fundraising for this.

CAP -  (Confirmation and Pilgrimage; Making choices on the journey)  A year-long program where the youth prepare for confirmation and embark on their holy pilgrimage.

Young Adults:

YAC - (Young Adults in the Church)  A mentor-based program helping older teens (11th and 12th grade) to move into an adult role in the church and community. Vocation and development of a personal credo are also emphasized.

ECM - (Episcopal Campus Ministry)  Serves young adults and college students in the Eugene area campus community.
