The purpose of St. Mary's Episcopal Church is to share our spiritual journey in Christ, by celebrating the sacraments, proclaiming the Gospel and supporting each other in ministry and mission.
Ted Berktold+, Rector
Please join us for our weekend services. We are located at the corner of 13th Avenue and Pearl Street in Eugene.
Sunday services:
8:00 AM Holy Eucharist (Rite I)
9:30 AM Holy Eucharist (Rite II)
This service is often described as our "Family Service".
There is Sunday School every Sunday of summer, until Labor Day Weekend. Summer Sunday School is always
a combined class of elementary school age children. We alternate Sundays between more traditional Sunday
lessons and music with Peter Robb, director of Oregon Festival Choirs.
11:00 AM Holy Eucharist (Rite II)
1:30 PM Santa Eucharistia
Saturday service:
5:30 PM Circle Service
This is an alternative service based on community and commitment to a vision of equals coming together
to worship, pray, and struggle with our faith.
Vestry Theme for 2008:
“Rejoice in the Lord always. Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The Lord is near.”
Philippians 4-9
You are invited to join in the worship and the fellowship of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church. We sincerely want you to feel welcome here. There is a place for you at St. Mary's whether you are a visitor or are someone looking for an ongoing relationship with a community of faith.
St. Mary's is the fourth largest congregation in the Episcopal Diocese of Oregon. Our Mission statement and Parish Goals: "We believe Christ calls us to proclaim and practice our faith with compassion, thereby making a difference in the lives of our members and our neighbors in the heart of the city." We carry out our ministry in six main areas. We Worship together at any one of five weekend services including a Spanish Language Eucharist instituted in 1997. Our Education program includes offerings for members of all ages. Fellowship actively promotes Christian unity through common interest groups as well as through all-parish activities. Pastoral Care provides care for our members in times of crisis or celebration, while our Outreach programs give us the opportunity to share Christ's presence with the larger community. Diocesan Ministry involves our members in the work of the church at the diocesan level on a host of boards, commissions, and committees.
