Dear Fellow Parishioners,
I'm writing on behalf of the vestry to provide updates about the parish and our work together in April. We first want to tell you that the windows project is almost done, but we ran into a challenge in replacing two of the windows. A big thank you to Brian McMurray for stepping in to help us troubleshoot and find contractors to find a safe solution for two of the windows in the kitchen. Berktold Hall was also repainted recently. In other building news, the automatic door openers are in place on the lift, and we ask that you be patient with them as they're slow to work. We're also excited to report that renovation of the sacristy is coming up soon. (For those of you scratching your head, trying to figure out what the sacristy is: It's that room behind the organ where clergy, LEMS and acolytes temporarily disappear because it's where all the "holy hardware" for worship is held.)
The vestry had a productive month, beginning with a full agenda at our monthly meeting on April 8. Mary Anne treated us to delicious gifts from Sweet Life Bakery. (Thank you, Mary Anne!) We heard from the representative from Earth Stewards about their ongoing support of the Earthcare Interfaith Fund. We received the reports that I mentioned above. Subcommittees continue to work to advance their goals: enhancing belonging for parishioners and making St. Mary's as welcoming a place as possible. You should anticipate a flurry of exciting outreach efforts from our committees as spring moves toward Summer. Stay tuned!
Tim Williams
