Sacristy Renovation (and Chapel Flower Placement)

The long awaited renovation of the church sacristy will begin June 8. The work will be done during the summer months. This renovation is made possible with a generous bequest gift by the late Ruth and Wayne Lill. Ruth served for 40 years as a member of St. Mary’s Altar Guild. The goals for the project are to provide greater work flow efficiency and environmental sustainability for the Altar Guild and clergy.

The sacristy is the space that houses our sacred objects, books, linens and altar pieces for each church season and for special services like funerals, weddings, baptisms, confirmations, and quinceañeras. It also provides the ‘back of house’ functions for the sound system, communion kits, supplies for candles, candelabras and communions, and other activities used by clergy and lay people.

During the renovation, there will be some adjustments in the chapel area to accommodate activities by the Altar Guild to prepare for each service. The front of the chapel will be closed off to allow for workspace for team members. Your patience and understanding is appreciated. For questions, contact Ryan+.

Chapel Flowers Update

During the renovation of the sacristy, chapel flowers sponsored by our generous parishioners will be placed side by side at the Mary statue in the sanctuary (as pictured above). Flowers have been placed at the Mary statue at Easter and Christmas and also after funerals and quinceañeras. If you have questions about chapel flowers, contact the office and we will get you in touch with Karen J.
