ECW Women’s Retreat: Rites of Passage

St. Mary’s Women’s Retreat, Plan B

Dear Friends,

As you may know, the loss by fire of the lodge at Camp Lutherwood makes it impossible for us to meet there on April 26-28, as previously scheduled.

The retreat planning team met Monday night and unanimously agreed to proceed with a one-day St. Mary's Women's Retreat on Saturday, April 27. We'll gather at the Eugene Yacht Club (directions and carpool information below) from 9:30 AM to 3:15 PM. Our program will include worship, a time to get to know each other better, small group sharing, and a writing workshop with Eugene poet and St. Mary’s parishioner, Erica Goss. Morning coffee and refreshments will be provided, along with a lunch catered by Café Yumm.

Cost will be $20 per person. If you would like to be part of the April 27 one-day retreat, please notify by text or email Nancy Crawford no later than Noon on this Friday, April 19. We will refund your registration fee for the full retreat, minus $20 for the one-day retreat. (If you choose not to attend, please also notify Nancy by Noon on Friday and we will issue you a full refund.) Checks will be mailed to those who paid by check or cash. Your credit card will be credited for full or partial payment for those who paid on-line.

All St. Mary's women are invited to this Saturday retreat, whether or not you registered for the 3-day retreat. New registrants will pay $20 at the door on April 27. Additional women coming to the Saturday retreat must Email or Text Nancy Crawford by 5 PM, Easter Sunday.

Please join us for what we believe will be a beautiful day of sharing and bonding among the women of St. Mary's. This mini-retreat will be an introduction to a full three-day retreat to be held next fall, with the theme of Rites of Passage.

If you have any questions or concerns about this, please do not hesitate to call Nancy or Alice Parman.

Your sisters in Christ,

Deacon Nancy Crawford

Evening at St. Mary’s/Family Fun Nights

Varies – See Events Calendar
Evening at St. Mary’s/Family Fun Nights are opportunities for parishioners to get together for a delicious meal, fellowship time, and a short - typically liturgically based - program. We start with social hour in the Guild Room while the children and youth gather in the Sunday School wing for a craft or activity. We usually move to the church for the short program or learning piece, then we all move up to Berktold Hall for dinner. Check the Bellringer and/or our Events Calendar for details about upcoming events!

Golden Age group (70+ age range)

First Mondays at Noon
Please see the Bellringer or Events Calendar for more information.

HIBsters (Happy In-Betweeners)

Gathering dates vary
Who is a HIBster? We are the Happy In-Betweeners.  We are not in the 20-30's age range, and we are not in the Golden Age group (now 70+ age range).  If you feel like you're too old for the 20-30's and too young for the Golden Agers, you are an In-Betweener.  It doesn't matter if you are married, single, gay, straight, with children or without.  It does matter that you want to socialize with other people who identify as "In Between" and have a fun time with low commitment.  We meet monthly, and try to do a variety of activities, ranging from outdoor hikes and birdwatching to arcade games at a bar to board game day or holiday party at someone's house.  We have an informal leadership and are always open to suggestions. We meet at various locations off-site. Please see the Bellringer or Events Calendar for more information.

St. Mary’s Quilting Guild

Wednesdays 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
This guild was founded in 1860. Income generated by this guild’s work is used to purchase a variety of items used by our clergy and the congregation for worship, such as our prayer candle stand and the new purple chasuble worn in Advent.

St. Mary's Needle Arts Guild

Thursdays 1:00-3:00 PM and 5:30-7:00 PM
Members work on both personal projects and St. Mary's Prayer Shawls. Tea and cookies are often shared. All skill levels are welcome! This is a great place to sharpen your skills and learn new techniques. Most attendees are knitters, though we also have other skills present such as rug hooking. Once a month, on the first Thursday of each month, we have a Needle Arts Guild Potluck at Noon.

Episcopal Church Women (ECW) Night at the Movies

Sometimes Sundays at 3 PM, sometimes Thursdays at 6 PM BYO Dinner/Movie starts at 7
Everyone is welcome to join us. For information about the movie of the month, the date, and the time, please see the Bellringer or the weekly email announcements.

ECW Spirited Women

Varies – See Events Calendar
ECW (Episcopal Church Women) Spirited Women is a women's spiritual/fellowship group. It is a time for busy women to get together, relax, and explore our spirituality. We do this in many ways: we meet at the church, at each other's houses, or at restaurants. We usually have a conversational topic or reading that we discuss, but sometimes we just relax together or take in a Science Pub topic at Cozmic Pizza. ALL women are invited; you don't have to attend every month. Watch the Bellringer and weekly email announcements for topics and locations.
