Update on Ryan Baker-Fones' Curacy

We are excited to announce that the Personnel Committee and Vestry have made two important and exciting decisions related to our curate, the Rev. Ryan Baker-Fones.

First, starting this summer, Ryan will direct our children and youth ministries. Ryan has over twenty years of professional experience as an educator that he will combine with his theological training to oversee and lead this invaluable part of our ministry. This combination of experience and training along with his passion for this ministry will make a transformative impact on our children and youth program.

We anticipate that we will be able to return to relatively normal Sunday School and children and youth fellowship programs in September, so Ryan will spend this summer recruiting, planning, and preparing for that launch.

Second, the Vestry has decided that at the end of his curacy in June 2023, Ryan will stay on as a priest at St. Mary’s in charge of Children, Youth, and Family ministries. His exact title and a few other details are still to be worked out, but we are delighted that Ryan will be able to continue on and serve alongside us in ministry.

A Note from Bingham:

I am thrilled that Ryan+ is taking on this important responsibility and that he will be staying on at St. Mary’s after his curacy. It is such a delight to work with Ryan, and given his experience in education and passion in working with children and youth, this is such a gift for the people of St. Mary’s. I look forward to continuing to work with Ryan!

A Note from Ryan:

This is EXACTLY the kind of work that brings me life! I am excited to combine my teaching skills and theological training to help our youth and families grow in their understanding of God’s love. St. Mary’s has been such a supportive and vibrant community and it’s my pleasure to be able to continue to serve and grow here!
